Catalyst modules are designed to focus on a single leadership competency, allowing students to further develop their unique skill sets. During the learning modules, facilitators challenge students as they build skills through hands on practice in interactive environments. Catalyst modules are two parts and are concentrated to accommodate students' busy schedules.
|Influence Outcomes: Positively impact your results||How skilled are you in gaining commitment from your faculty advisor and peers? Good leaders know that influencing others is critical for building support and teams. This highly interactive module will teach you the components of effective influence and increase your awareness of others’ needs and motivations. You will learn how to apply influence techniques to real life situations, helping you build and sustain momentum for your research and group projects.|
|Embrace Conflict: Learn how to deal with conflict and tension||What do you do when you encounter conflict or tension with others? Do you tend to shrink back and withdraw, or do you enter into adversarial confrontations? Learn how to address conflict in a way that preserves and improves relationships, creates new opportunities, and increases productivity. This highly interactive module addresses how to recognize your conflict triggers, how to uncover the different values that can lead to conflict, and provides role playing to practice positive responses to conflict.|
|Master Adaptability: Be the leader the situation needs||How adaptable are you? Effective leaders know how to cultivate adaptability and flexibility in your leadership style. Identify development areas that will enhance your leadership capabilities and leadership effectiveness. In this interactive module participants will identify insights into your leadership reputation and brand to internalize and apply lessons learned.|
|Launching a Team: Learn how to launch a focused, invested team.||Do you want to learn how to create a shared experience that launches a focused and invested team from the beginning? Join this highly interactive module to learn strategies that will lead to a strong shared goal setting process and a team all “singing from the same hymn sheet” with a shared mental model.|
|Deliver Feedback: Make your input matter||Good leaders are skilled in sharing feedback that can move people forward without creating defensiveness or resistance. Strong feedback can positively impact and entire team’s culture, outcomes and motivation. In this interactive module you will explore your own orientation to feedback and learn a concrete framework for how to provide meaningful and positive feedback to others.|
